Laika Come Home is a remix album done by the group Spacemonkeyz released in 2002. Within Gorillaz canon, the Spacemonkeyz are actual monkeys who are the offspring of cosmonaut monkeys from the Cold War. They broke into Kong and stole the master tapes for the Self Titled album while Gorillaz were on tour in 2002. They remixed the songs as a method to contact their spiritual leader Laika, the dog that was launched into space by the Soviet Union in 1957.
